Would storage heater bricks be any good for a gas forge after finding about 150 of them. My idea is build a steel box 12"x12"x20" line with rock wool insulation them with the fire bricks would end up with a forge 9"x9"x18" and have an insulated door that slides up and use a propane torch and a thermostat they use on kilns to regulate the temp. Dose that make since

Sounds like a great idea, but I'd put the insulation on the outside.

Ya the insulation is going between the bricks and the steel box and drill 2" hole for torch sure they cost me nothing all i can do is try and if it works well and good. And if they work for that going to build a kiln for pottery as well as the bricks after getting a 2 foot square door of a industrial boiler. Thanks
