How to get out of being a witness for DPP case

My son has been told he is a witness in a court case and to appear in court for up to 2 weeks depending how long the trial takes.
The thing is, it's the same two weeks that his LC mock exams are on. He can't miss these exams.
How do I find out if he can be excused as a witness? There are several witnesses in this case.
On the letter we got , there are no contact details at all.

Contact whoever notified him about this.

If a witness summons is served on him, he should turn up on first day and state his position.

He may still have to be a witness, but the time involved could be reduced.

E.g. if he has made a statement, it would or should be given to both sides. In the circs if he is only a minor actor in the cast his evidence might be agreed

Ye might not want to miss mock exams, but they're hardly important in the greater scheme of things.

Surely the court your son has to appear in is the contact detail you need?

The people he needs to talk to are not the court officials; they're the prosecutors who have called him as a witness. Could be the guards, could be the DPP's office. (The thread title suggests the latter.)

Contact them and explain the situation. They are generally reasonable and co-operative. In this case they will try to schedule his testimony for a day and time that won't cause him to miss an exam.

After contacting the court, they put us in touch with the DPP solicitor and the have agreed that they will not call him for the duration of the exams. Thanks for the advice.
