Help needed folks, the car is ticking over when i turn the ignition but it wont start, would the fuel pump be gone or would it be the spark plugs or what may be the issue?

Could be one of a thousand things mate if you have fuel in it well then it could be pump it could be ecu if its a modern car it could be a coil pack it could be one of the many sensors... Get a mechanic to have look at it

So it's a 2002 car with it's boot to the wall? Not being smart but the more info you give the more people can help you.

When you turn the key to the half way point before trying to turn it over, you should hear a slight buzz noise from the fuel pump. If you recall hearing this sound before but not now, it could be it.
How old is your battery, I would hook up a set of jump leads just to make sure that there is enough power.

yea i tried the jump leads but no go, also there is no sound from the halfway mark on the ignition which makes me think its the pump

Any luck with it? If you cant here the pump anymore that's a good place to start? Check all your fuses make sure none are blown and relays.

Remove the key, wait 10secs, put the key in the other way, and try again. Try the spare key also.

We changed car lately , and had similar experience /.

When we got the car it had 3 keys and couldn't understand why the car would not start sometimes .

However it turned that only one key would start the car and the other keys were for doors / boot .

Yet these other keys would fit ignition and car kept turning but would not start.
