How can I rollback my HTC M8 to KitKat ?

Got Lollipop update yesterday - and two way call recording app ACR stopped working.

    ACR makers told:
"HTC M8 stopped supporting normal call recording with Android 5. But here seems to be a way to get around this issue. We are investigating to see if we can achieve this with ACR. In the meantime you might want to try other call recording apps. I am sorry about this inconvenience but it is out of control. Manufacturer make undocumented changes."

Then I tried different call recorders but non of them worked.

It is very important to me to have this function available ( Two way call recording was actually the reason I got that expensive M8 at first place )

    Any thoughts?

You can't go back to KitKat officially, i'm not that up to date on rooting/flashing as never felt the need but i think that's the only way for you to go on this

Yep, I think you would have to root and flash to go back. It's not as drastic as it sounds. Many people root and flash stock versions of the software and then unroot again. Rooting only gets out of control if you go down the road of flashing custom ROMs.

I've rooted an M7 in the past, and then unrooted it to go back to a completely stock set up. I've never done an M8, but if you go to the XDA Developers website, you'll get plenty of guidance.

If you've never done it before, you have to be a little bit brave, but it's hard to do serious damage. For a quick and easy way to root, have a Google for the Cyanogenmod Installer app. That pretty much automates the whole process. It will install the CM custom ROM, but you at least will have a rooted device which you can flash a 4.4.4 version of Sense onto.

Tbh i doubt it would be long before the Devs figure out the app, in the meantime cant you just flash the official KK ROM?

Sorry to hear , as a rule of thumb though id do a backup before a major update. Did you have any backup to say google drive, dropbox or google plus or any other service? On some phones they are turned on by default

Check online to see if they appear on your account, unless you opted out of auto backup?
