    Hello all.

For 2014, I've ended up paying 404.39€ more PRSI (according to http://www.virtualaccountant.ie/Tools/tax2014.jsp) than I should have.

I worked in an (unpaid) internship for the first six months of the year, while also working two paid days a week, in another company, until mid-June. As such, up to June, I paid no PRSI.

Thereafter, I was working full time and ended up paying the above amount of PRSI for the entire year, even though my overall wage of circa 16,000€ comes in under the PRSI threshold of 352€ per week (18,300~ per year).

Does anyone know if I am entitled to any, or all, of that PRSI figure of 404.39 back? If so, how do I go about making such a claim?

    Thanks.

You could try but probably not to be honest.

PAYE and USC are cumulative but PRSI is per period. It is kinda a pain when you have situations like that yours. The only saving grace is you are building up your Class A contribution for welfare/job seekers/illness/pension claims down the line.

The Department of Social Protection has a lot of information on prsi and has the address for claiming for a refund.
