    Hi,

Hate to post another rent allowance question, but nothing on Citizen Information.. If i was in receipt of rent allowance in Dublin, was living in private accomodation before being approved for rent allowance, also applied for Local Housing. Was given receipt etc.

Just wondering, if i find accomodation in another county within rent limits Cork?! Can i apply for RA there?!

    Thanks

    Hi Lukep13,

Can you clarify... do you mean you have been given local authority housing in Dublin and want to move to private rented in Cork? Or you are currently in private rented with a rent allowance and want to move to private rented/rent allowance in Cork?

Without getting too personal, can you advise of the reason for the move and the SW payment you are on? If you want to pm me with that information I will keep it off the main message thread.

These factors can have an impact on whether or not you can/should.

    Regards,

I was on RA in Dublin. I moved to Offaly. I applied and was given RA in Offaly.

CWO in Offaly called the CWO (Community Welfare Officer)in Dublin and cancelled my RA in Dublin and organised it all for me.

No one asked me why I wanted to move.

CWO's are listed on the SW website.

You will need to go on the Public housing register in Cork to get RA.

But system is changing to HAP very soon. (Housing Assistance Payment).

So its all going to change. Might even be changed already in Cork.
