Irish Water protesters shout 'shameful' abuse and block councillors from leaving council building tonight

A group of 14 protesters assembled at the gates of the Fingal County Council car park in Swords preventing the elected representatives from leaving in their cars.

Gardai have been called to the scene and are monitoring the incident.

Cllr McGuinness said the protestors wouldn’t allow the council to leave unless “we (Fingal) put the abolition of Irish Water first on next meeting!”
