OK . I was going well (for me) up to sept when there was a death in the immediate family. Went off the rails with food and drink and gave up training completely. Put on about 2 stone since but am determined to get back training now. I was running 10 k and cycling 60 k without much bother(or much speed) before layoff. I will never be super fit. Big lad. Just wondering how I should resume training with extra weight. Maybe run 3to4 k , cycle 20k and see how I get on. I finished a sprint tri in Aug and had actually started a half im plan in sept but now the thoughts of a sprint tri fills me with fear once again. All suggestions welcome and thanks in advance.

Dont get hung up on distances. Aim to run for up to an hour as a first goal but build it up slowly. Focus on a clean diet with smaller portions and the weight should take care of itself.
