I cant find anyone to fit my vibe sub to a vw up 2014, I can get it fitted in the UK for £110, sounds expensive but I am heading over there shortly anyway, but I cannot uinderstand why it cannot be done here, is it just too much hassle and not worth peoples time?
I've been told by a couple of locals that it cannot be fitted to that type of car because of the standard fitted radio wont have pre outs, but I had a sub fitted before in a bmw years ago and they used some other sort of connection ( crossover?) I like some bass I may have to change the car at this rate!!!!

Not seeing the outputs for a low level line out.

May need something like this to get amp outputs.

Would be easy with an aftermarket head unit

It can be fitted by using a high to low level converter. Don't know who you are asking but they clearly are not clued up.

    Where abouts are you ?

I'm in the midlands, the high to low you refer too I have had that done before in a previous car, I am not sure its a case of it cannot be done, more a case of not worth while to do. Anyway I have had to go down the route of after market unit with pre outs I have ordered the facia panel ( €48 ) then it will take the after market unit and everything will be hunky dory.

A good quality converter can be got for about €20.00-€25.00 so not expensive. Your Vibe amp/sub might even have direct high level inputs on it, did you check .
