What MPV do we need?

Looking to upgrade. Driving a 2002 Peugeot 207SW at the moment and the lack of boot with the seats up is driving us mental. We don't need a big boot, just a semblance of a boot to put the umbrella fold pushchair and some shopping every week! We very rarely do long distance driving.

    So it needs to be

    Between 2010 - 2013
Needs to have 7 seats (well we need 4 in the back because we have 4 in car seats)
Needs a bit of a boot.
Engine size as small as possible...

A Renault Scenic, Citroen C4 Grand Picasso, Opel Zafira all good options or maybe stay with Peugeot and get a 5008. You should get a 1.6tdi in most of them
Don,t think your going to get an engine any smaller than that in an MPV of that size. Its not really about the size of engines now do ever since the tax change in 2008 it has been about how much Co2 a car produces. Thats what cars are taxed on now. So someone could be driving a big 40grand BMW5 series with a 2litre engine and only paying the basic 180 euro tax. Someone else could have a smaller and cheaper car and might be paying more tax. It all depends on what the engine is producing Co2 wise.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Grand Picasso and Corolla are out, the boots won't fit even a pushchair...

Any one any other suggestions? Is there something I'm missing...

    Galaxy,
    Corolla Verso,
    Grand Picasso,
    Zafira,
    5008
    Scenic?

Well you're saying you need Boot Space whilst using 4 seats, right? And from you're comment (the boots won't fit even a pushchair) Im guessing you are talking about Boot Space when 7 seats are in place? Then IMO you need bigger than the Compact range, so you are looking at Galaxy, Alhambro etc. or larger...

Citreon C8? Friend has one with 4 kids for years, no real issues so far other than wear and tear which it doesn't seem to hold up well against.

    Just a random example.

As others said your in Galaxy, Alhambro territory or then into larger mini bus like ones - VW Carravelle?
If your mileage is low maybe consider petrol, but choices will be slim and torque low for a large car with lot's of passengers. You really need to try them out and test drive a few.

Others has often mentioned the Honda FRV as a 6 seater but never been in one.

You will probably need a full size 7 seater so like the Galaxy or Alhambra. The others are really stretched mid size MPVs to accommodate a 3rd row of seats. When the 3rd row of seats are in use the boot on them tends to be small.
