Mac writing issue (macbook air)

    hi guys,

    i've just bought this drive, but i cant write to it:

    i have a macbook air. my friend has an imac, and he managed to transfer files to it, but for some reason my macbook air wont allow me to copy files over to it...dunno why..

    any ideas?

    it could be the wrong format i.e. NTFS or exFat

    More than likely a formatting issue. OS X can read from, but can't write to, an NTFS formatted drive by default, without the help of some additional software (which your friend probably had installed). Either install something like Paragon NTFS that will allow you to access such drives, or reformat the drive to the Mac OS format.

    Note however, if you reformat the drive then you will lose whatever is already on it.

    Paragon NTFS is a must and one of the best pieces of software for your mac.
