Hi all. I had my rear suspension (bar / bushes etc.) done last week but have just failed the NCT on rear wheel alignment. Is this shoddy workmanship by the mechanic or should I have asked them specifically to do this? (they knew I had the NCT coming up).

When any component of the suspension is replaced or repaired it is always recommended to get the car alignment checked for inbalance.

Plenty of indy mechanics wouldn't have wheel alignment systems to do it anyway.

    What car is that.
Many cars don't have any adjustment on rear wheels suspension, so not only you mechanic couldn't do anything then, but he might not be able to do anything now to fix it (except from changing bushings again or other suspension parts which are not straight).
    All depends on the car.

In that case AFAIK adjustments are possible.
So your mechanic after changing bushings should have adjusted it, or if he doesn't have equipment for doing so, advice you to have it adjusted.
