Hi all, just wondering if anyone have used any irish cv writing companies? At a loss with what to do with my cv and hoping someone has some advice😊

Are you working? The reason I ask is I had a CV and i brought it to The Northside Partnership and they redone it for me and it looks great. The Social Welfare sent me to them as my jobseekers in coming to an end

To be honest, if I was a hiring manager and I somehow found out that a CV I was reading (good as it may be) was written up by a CV consultant, I would be very slow to give the person an interview if there was good competition.

The reason being that if someone hasn't got the wherewithal to write a well put together CV and research what makes a good CV and get on to 3rd parties to do it for them then I think that shows that they just might have no real motivation in themselves.

Maybe as a side, research how to write one. I rewrite mine based on recruiter feedback as per job requirements.

I think you would have to at least consider the role that the person is applying for before making that sort of judgement.

CV writing is a skill in its own right that might have close to zero overlap with what someone might do day-to-day. I've seen terrible CVs from people I know to be really good - usually techies who would rarely produce a document for non-techies.

Here's in one that accurately matches the requirements from the Irish Job Market. It is optimized for legal jobs, but it works for about every job type:

Make sure you understand which part is read by which decider during the recruitment process (all explained on the site). Optimize it for each person! :-)
