Any ideas on this - it was becoming slower more recently to get the boot to open but now it just doesn't open at all and I don't want to force it....

I searched online and it is common enough and a replacement part can be got cheaply online for it...

problem is....how can I get it to release in order to fix it...

    thanks in advance

If you let down the back seats and get into the boot there may be a release catch on the lock mechanism

You need to put a screw driver in the lock from in the car. U actually need to take the plastic trim off with the boot closed.or u can remove the panal with the switch on it from outside and disconnect the switch and then bridge the two wires with a paper clip this is how I've done it afew times so simple then the boot pops

Had that on mine. The garage man popped the rubber switch assembly from the outside. Then put a stanly knife on to the 2 wires and shorted them. Boot opened
