    Hello good people of boards,

I'm looking for a hotel in Ireland for my 10 year anniversary with my girlfriend.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

Any budget, specific location? We're going Castlemartyr for our 5 year anniversary.

We'd been to Mount Juliet, which now has a Michelin star restaurant, the The Merrion in Dublin and The Sheen Falls in Kerry. All of these I would rate quite highly as great places to stay for a luxury weekend.
All offer lovely afternoon tea and while the spas are ok, can be a touch of relaxation.

The Forster Court in Galway was lovely. Right beside Eyre Square too and galway is a lovely city for a short break, assuming you don't live there it could be nice!

    Best you give this.

Also, would a spa hotel / pool be high up the list?
    Are yee foodies?
Do you want to be based in a city or more a country retreat?

Bit more info, and I'm sure the recommendations will come.
We've some amazing hotels in this country!

    Thanks a lot guys!

My budget is around 500 for accommodation and I'd really like a place with a good restaurant.

I stayed in the mullingar park hotel a few times mainly because of their Michelin bib restaurant which was fantastic.

Would second this if you're being directed towards Killarney; imo it's definitely the most luxurious of the Killarney hotels.

Faithlegg in Waterford is a great relaxing hotel. Food was lovely also!

G Hotel Galway is a very nice 5 star, on the Dublin side of Galway City. We had a lovely stay when there and the thermal suite is very relaxing. Rooms are really nice with the extra touches of a 5 star, breakfast with a menu, not buffet etc

The Monart is supposed to be fab as is the Cliff House in Waterford

Killarney would be a wonderful place for an Anniversary (lived there, oh is from there) The Europe is out of this world. Aghadoe Heights would be my second choice with regards to 5*, views and food are both incredible! Great 4 stars which are v.luxurious and are only 4 stars because they make more money by being so are The Malton & The Brehon.

The g in Galway, also Fab. I live in Galway so another lovely place for an Anniversary.

Cliff house for me. Fantastic restaurant. Lovely area. The Europe - it was alright but not worth the cash IMO. Preferred Muckross park.

Another +1 for the cliff house, went for a mini moon after our wedding, fabulous location, divine spa and possibly the best meal I've ever had had in the restaurant.

Yes Mon art in Wexford is stunning , secluded woods area, thermal suite where you pad around in robes all day, fab spa treatments and great restaurant with lovely organic food. ( and no kids allowed if that's a good or bad thing ...)

Make sure you get your Lady Helen restaurant booking in, it's fabulous, and they've a Michelin star now.

Don't know what room type you're planning on booking, but some rooms can be good bit smaller than their website pics, so would recommend to call them and tell them it's a special occasion and see if they can make sure you get the best room at that rate...
