I've a radiator leaking from where the piece with the nut for attaching to the valve enters the radiator itself. I need a large hex key to remove this right? Just remove wrap with plenty of pfte tape and replace should sort it right? I've already had it down and redone the valve fittings but on closer observation the leak is from this joint.

20 wraps of tape should do the trick.

Is this a simple/straightforward diy job? I've something similar myself...

Yup it's fairly simple but it can be messy, the water in the rad was like tar. I've replaced a rad that was old and rusty, it took about an hour.

So replacing just the valve connection shouldn't take too long.

Close the valves tight and open the nut closest to the rad, let the water drain into a basin.

Remove threaded connection from the rad, re tape the thread and make new connection.

Make sure all fittings are tight and open up the valves.

Top Up the water pressure and vent the rads up stairs.

Don't use tape, it's crap. Use hemp and uni white. If you must use tape use gas tape and 2 - 3 wraps

Why would you order it from Amazon??
Any Plumbing Suppliers will have them and I have seen them in Woodies and B&Q.
