Well lads, tried to find a thread about this already but couldn't see one, apologies if there is one.

I was 360 last gen but made the switch to PS4 this time and recently picked up a second hand PS3 to take full advantage of PS Plus. Already played The Last of Us on PS4 so I'm just looking for games that I missed out on last gen that have held up well and are still worth playing. I've got Uncharted Series on my list but not too familiar with any others. Don't necessarily have to be PS3 exclusives as I'm sure there's a few cross platform games I missed too but not a huge amount I'd say. Thanks for any recommendations.

What's your preferred type of game?

If platform try the Jak & Daxter games or Ratchett & Clank. very cartoony but great fun.
If you want a challenge and are excited by Bloodborne, there's demon souls, dark souls & dark souls 2.

I still love skrim & Oblivion. Nice open world games. Darksiders 1 & 2 are both under appreciated, very different to each other but a good blast of mayhem.

Not forgetting the God of War series...
Batman arkham asylum, tight gameplay the others lacked.

Not mad on platformers, I've heard a lot about the souls series but I don't think they're for me, I might give Bloodborne a go on PS4. I never played Oblivion, is it worth getting now? Have skyrim and loved it. Will look into Darksiders and God of War. Thanks.

    The BioShock series

    Metal Gear Solid 4

. . . and as you mentioned in your first post, the Uncharted games. Revolutionised acting in video games imo. Best performances since Metal Gear Solid 3 in gaming.

Honourary mentions for Batman: Arkham Asylum. Easy to play, still looks great & excellent voice acting (especially from Harley Quinn and The Joker)

Oblivion may not have aged the best but I still enjoy playing it, you should get a copy now for next to nothing.

You can pick any of the souls games up quite cheaply now, much cheaper than paying full whack for bloodborne.

Yup, the uncharted ones are great. Bioshock wasn't really for me.

    Demon's Souls.
Best game of last gen, imo.

Resistance 1,2 and 3. The first games graphics are poor but it's worth it still.

Killzone 2 and 3. I prefer 2 but the controls in 3 are better and slicker. ALthough you can jus tpick a diff layout for 2.

God of war 3 is a must and then get ascension if you really liked 3.

Uncharted 1-3 and you have them.

The 2 infamous games are sweet.

Metal Gear Solid 4 if you like that series.

You can get spyro 1-3 or crash bandicoot 1-3 from the psn store. Been loving them lately.

Littlebigplanet 1/2 but it might not be your type.

Heavy rain is unique and i loved it.

Ratchet and clank: tools of destruction / a crack in time / nexus all worth a god if you love platformers.

motorstorm 1/2/3 if you love off road racers. the 3rd was too arcadey for me though.

Gran Turismo 6 just released if you love racing sims. GT5 is also out a few years.

Demon's Souls 1/2 is epic if you like JRPG's.

Echochrome / flower / journey / folklore / Siren / starhawk / Ni No Kuni / Valkyria Chronicles! are all nice psn games.

The Last of US is my game of the generation and a must buy. Made by the uncharted crew.

beyond: two souls made by the heavy rain crew is very good but unique.

Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection

    MGS HD collection

That's all I can think of. I'm sure there are a few more.

    there ya go.

Thanks for all the tips lads, picked up Heavy Rain today, liked the sound of it. Will play through that and move on to the uncharted series and go from there.

It's a hard one to explain. It's got an open world like skyrim but a lot smaller, and the combat is like a mix of Shadow of the Colossus and Dark Souls. The main game is brilliant. Then once you beat that the post game is even more amazing. Make sure you get the Dark Arisen version since the expansion is fantastic.
