I was in a car accident last year, I was prescribed various pain medicines do back pain. Yesterday I was prescribed lyrica.

Well holy fcuk, got up at 8am suffering from serious back pain, took 2 of these as prescribed and then after about 30 mins, I was off me chops scrubbing the house.

Back pain is gone, all washing is done, house is immaculate and I'm mad out of it. Has any of ye had any weird side effects from these?

There's no way I can drive anywhere I'm fcuking mad out of my face, it doesn't say anything of the sort on the box.

Jesus I had things to so today and now I can't.

Are you sure it wasn't ecstasy you took?

Just stay here and talk to us until you come down. Close the curtains.

    It'll be fine.

Is it not an anti-convulsant prescribed for epileptics?

You wll need a wheelchair when they wear off

Lyrica is used to control and treat nerve pain which I suffer with, it is also for epileptic seizures which I don't suffer with.

Probably will I'd say coming down will be a nightmare, at least the house is clean and all the washing is done.

It's a downer and has no stimulant qualities, any increased energy is merely you experiencing some sort of placebo effect.

Hope you have a full recovery, btw.

careful OP, it'll probably be like when you get your gum numbed from the dentist, the pain will be back once they wear off and it wont be pleasant! I'd get some heat packs ready and be prepaired to sit for awhile!

I lost a leg in an accident and I have terrible pain with it.
The pain clinic gave me Lyrica along with other pain meds
I take Lyrica 3 times a day everyday and have done for over 10 years and I never experienced anything like that at all, not even when I first took them.
I don't ever get any "buzz" off them and I'm fine driving, I drive about 130km a day and they do not affect me like they seem to be affecting you.
In fact they are only just holding off the pain, but if I forget to take them I do know about it pritty quick so they must be doing something.

You're right I think the pain will be back after they wear off, this is mental stuff. Definitely will not take one in work.

Yeah, I seriously cannot believe it myself. The wife is perplexed at the side effects , she never experienced anything like it either, she said they just made her sleepy.

I was on them for anxiety. All they did was make me feel dopey and drunk, didn't give a damn about anything or anyone.

    The withdrawals were horrendous

What strength are they OP? I've experienced similar with a different type of GABA drug, the high is amazing but you won't get that every time you take them (unless you up the dose which id advise against). I was prescribed Lyrica for back pain, didn't work for me sadly. Glad you are enjoying yourself!

I have just done another load of washing, I'm exhausted. I think they're wearing off. Well they definitely fcuked my Saturday up. I can't drive anywhere and the pain is coming back. I'm not taking them again, I feel like shít now.

100mg I was prescribed, 2 in the morning and same in evening, sure how the feck could I go to work in this state? Not taking them again, need something different for nerve pain, this is crazy.

This site says that euphoria is a possible side effect.

Maybe have a word with the GP about it to see what he/she would say about changing dosage or perhaps changing to a different drug altogether.

When i was prescribed them the GP told me to gradually raise the dose, think mine were 75mg and he said take 1 the first day, 2 second day spaced out and then 3 after that spaced out 1 at a time with the dosage being 1 every 8 hours essentially. 2x100mg right off the bat no wonder you were flying ha.

    Back pain is gone
Perhaps consider finding out what exercise would benefit your back, and do said exercise when you're on the drugs?

I thought Lyrica was the name for those tight pants I see girls wearing :(

I did, but I also did so much cleaning, I think I'll be in agony later. I have permanent nerve damage in my back, it gives me shooting pains in my leg. These worked but the side effects are crazy. I have tylex but I. Don't like taking them as they can destroy you're insides and can potentially be very addictive, they're loaded with codeine.

Tried it once. Gave me horrific vertigo. Thought the walls were coming at me.

I work with homeless addicts and they love them , the come down off them is mental.
In saying the way you take them and the way they take them might be a little different.

So you've had the same effect, crazy isn't it?

No i didn't get that effect from Lyrica (mine was subtle from the low dose) but from a similar drug that works on the GABA receptors so i can imagine what you are experiencing and yeah it is pretty crazy!
