A few questions

    Boiler
Boiler in house is original Potterton (house built 1986)
It has broken down a few times and parts replaced and serviced and working fine now
However is it a false economy i.e. would new boiler be cheaper to run and over time pay for itself ?
Also boiler is in kitchen in floor press. Kitchen is small so would like the idea of the boiler being outside in own self contained unit in corner of garden or outside kitchen window (would be about 6 feet from where it is), A dog kennel sized self contained unit is what I am thinking. Is this possible or too costly ?
    Ballpark costs ?

    Radiator
Radiator in TV room is original and doesn't heat great. Tried to bleed it but the valve faces wall and cannot access it. Thinking of changing radiator to newer radiator and new radiator in back room heats room great.
Ball park cost to change radiator ?

    Fuse Board
When boiler was last serviced I was told that there was something that needed to be done on fuse board to conform to regulations. Any idea what this is and what it would cost ?

    Thanks

Boiler: oil or gas, open or closed system?
regardless, best all round if it stays where it is, indoors
Rad: impossible to say without some details of room: size. ceiling height.
    Elec: pass
in passing what is the pipe work? copper or gun-barrel.
If original then you will need to factor in getting it flushed if getting new boiler.

Also if gas the gas company may have to "purge the gas line" to house, had to get one done in D 9 last week, it was almost stuffed with white crap :) Don't understand the issue but when the plumber disconnected the gas from the old boiler he said it needed doing

    Gas
No idea what open or closed system means

    rooms perhaps 20 x 10 (guess)
ceiling height is as follows - I am 6ft 2 in and can touch the ceiling so presume normal ceiling height ?

    suspect original

I think you need to get some answers on the questions.
The experts here will take over now
Re the gas pipeline, what happened on the case I had, the plumber took off the gas pipe to boiler on a Thursday morning, saw the crap and called it in to gas co, he wouldn't reconnect, it took a week to have it cleaned.

Re ceiling height is as follows - I am 6ft 2 in and can touch the ceiling so presume normal ceiling height ?
Do you play basketball with that reach :)
