SCC value limit question

I'm considering using the SCC to attempt to recoup a deposit paid for work which was started and left unfinished 7 months since paying it.

The deposit paid was less than €2000, but the total sum involved would have been around €4000 on completion (including deposit)

Would the €4000 total value preclude it from being addressed using the SCC*?

Small claims court, in case anyone thinks I'm talking about the Special Criminal Court or something.
