Reaction to whiskey/whiskey ingredients?

    Hi all,

This is a strange thread, and I hope this is the right place for it.

I've been drinking whiskey (different kinds) for a good few years, without any problems.

The recent problem is that sometimes when I drink whiskey (and it might be only one measure, sipped over say 20 minutes), I get something like a reaction after I finish it - runny nose, sneezing, stuffy feeling. This lasts for maybe 30 minutes to an hour, then clears up completely and leaves me the same as before.

It doesn't happen every time - maybe only 1 in 3 times. The whiskey might be different kinds too. Other times the whiskey will have no effect (other than taste nice). At first I thought it was unrelated to the whiskey, and was looking at other things, but the correlation is definitely there. It doesn't ever happen with any other kind of alcohol.

    Anybody else ever experienced this?
