Black Gold are not cheap!! Eley Grand Prix 34g7 and rc 34g6 two best value, couldn't fault either .rc 's are lethal

RC sipe 7s puts the rest to shame tested them all on plate best spread at 35 yards.

express supream game also top class patern but very pricey.

I have never used Gamebore (they've a massive reputation) they, and most of the others you list would not be described as cheap shells. I most often get the slab of Eley Grand Prix 32g 6. I find they pattern very well in my gun, I think confidence and consistency are most important facets in becoming a better shot so I stay with them. RC Sipe are also a very good shell and usually a bit cheaper than the equivalent Eley. Remington seem okay but I used to find the Fiocchi dirty and recoil excessive(maybe that has changed now!?). I'd go out of my way to avoid Eley Supergame, personally I wouldn't take them to shoot game if they were offered to me for free.

Cross everything off that list except RC Sipe ! Great cartridge ! Going to buy 1000 myself before the end of the month, they will get me well through the summer and hopefully into the game season ! If you can get a good deal for 1000 then go for it !

was using rc2 caccia alongdside rc3caccia game the past few days using 6s in rc 2 and 5s in rc3 rc 2s seem powerful and very effective so far shot 3 crows at high up distances of 25-35 yrds while walking my dog and got 3 crows and 1 snipe

havent really used the rc 3 caccia yet but i think i made a mistake gettin em in no 5s i shouldve got em in no 6

my local supplier said he doesnt bother stocking eley grand prix cuz he said noone wants em altough id like to try em

he also said that the people who buy eley say that they find the eley grand prix maximum better in performance to the grand prix.

When the game season reopens keep the 5's for ducks. For now use them for rabbits, foxs and some evening crack roost shooting.

You should find a better supplier, sounds like he stocks feck all..

Grand Prix Maximum are a 34g shell Grand Prix are 30g and 32g, which imo are the ideal Game shell, i.e. walked up pheasant, woodcock, duck can't go wrong. Since Eley rebranded a few years ago the Grand Prix have been excellent, I've great confidence in them.

I'm confused as well...will ya get on and buy some shells and and try them, your going on here for weeks about buying shells for this or that, and had every opinion on every shell on the market cos u now you want to go and shoot a few crows. At this rate I'd hate to be buying a house with ya or selling you one!!:D

true but these are what ive been testing during the week: bear in mind i keep mine warm and the powder therefore burns better

    RC 2 no6 excellent
    RC 3 no5 excellent
    eley super game no5 dirt
nsi nobel sport stnd. no5 very good
    RC sipe no5 excellent
eley grnd prix maximum no5 very good
    remington shurshot no6 excellent
fiocchi pl32 no5+6 good ok reasonable

at the moment i am buying various brands to see how they perform so ill be buying B&P gamebore epress hull more eley gp and more fiocchi and RC along with more nsi and every other cartridge brand i can get my hands on bear in mind it is good to mildly warm your cartridges as they perform better all the powder burns and leaves you litle or no cleaning after shooting

I'm an average shot at best, if I want to improve my ability I can start to look at gun fit, chokes and cartridges, but all in all these tweeks will only slightly improve my shooting abilities and infact can, if I over think it, work against me because I may blame anyone or more other variables instead of the actual faults in my shooting fundamentals.

Now I'm not implying anything about your shooting skills, I'm just using my experience to illustrate how one can become wrapped up in tech specs and variables.

I generally use No 6 in 32-34 gram for all my rough shooting, usually RC brand, due to the good value, I'll buy 5's for ducks and recently on bolted rabbits and when the pigeons are kamakzi over decoys I'll use 7 1/2 28 grams (please no debates, its been done to death).

My own personal shooting abilities cannot out shoot the ability of the gun nor the cartridges I use, so once they go bang, pattern ok and eject properly I'm happy. After that the only problem in the system is me...........

Well said stick with the best cheapest one that patterns well and you need to check that on paper not live quarry and with waterproof cartridges I don't think warm powder is gonna make a difference the heat generated from the round going off will burn everything anyways

don't no about the warm shells,a mate of mine who shoots clays for Ireland always said to keep shells stored in a warm place bottom of the hotpress said it made a big difference on the preforamance of the shell.
