How to filter twitter tweets on Android device

I am not a twitter user. I subscribe to a single source (the transport company here in Berlin) so I get tweets about service interruptions and can take an alternative route home or whatever. The problem is, the transport company tweets bloody loads of stuff that I have no interest in. I'd like to filter for tweets that contain certain strings or hashtags (only the line numbers that may affect me and not those on the other side of the city).

Anyone know if this is possible? I'm thinking it must be, but googling brings all sort of useless results.

Use a different app, like Tweetcaster or something.

If you really want to tailor it to suit you, try ifttt.com.

Twitter search result (#hashtag by @Twitteraccount) to your SMS or email.

Thanks K, IFTT looks very interesting. Will try that out.

There are some existing traffic recipes here to check out - https://ifttt.com/recipes/search?q=traffic

You can turn off retweets, if this is constituting most of the bull?

No, I really only get tweets from the transport company, but a lot of them are just noise to me (I'm only concerned with maybe 5 lines that I can realistically take to/from work). Want to filter the rest out.

Hmmm, seems like IFTTT may not be working with Lollipop yet? I have it installed, but even a simple test to send me an android notification when I tweet something myself fails (and the log says I must have IFTTT installed on an android device, which I have).

I'm running cyanogenmod 12 (Android 5.0.2). Shame, it looks really cool. I suppose I can filter and send to email for the time being.
