3-1 up against these guys at the start of the season and ended up 3-3.
Quality team no doubt, but we are more than a match for them and have a good bit of momentum since Christmas so lets keep it going.

If people could keep the Spurs Liverpool score quiet that'd be swell.

3-1 loss. 1-0 up before conceding a free-kick on the stroke of half-time. When we were at full strength we were well in that game, but then we lost 2 players to injuries so were a man down for a chunk of it and they used the space to maximum effect. Had troubles with my own hamstring and had to go right-full as we had no subs at that point, but again sometimes you have to put your hand up and say you got fleeced, and that winger certainly got the better of me a few times. On the other hand, he was a quality player and as a unit we could've done more to control him.

On balance, the better team won, but again at full strength we're right up there with the best in this league, but hard to be anything other than disappointed tonight, despite a few players having very strong performances. Fair play to Derek for going in goals, excellent job.

One player has been asked not to return. Out of respect for that player's contribution to the team over the past few seasons, there should be no discussion of that on this public forum. Please use private messages for anything you would like to discuss.

A lot of things made that game tough.
    -Quality opposition
-The bigger pitch which rarely suits us and in fact suited them very well
-Having only the bare bones of a team and then losing two players to injury and another (Jules) who had to play on despite not being 100%

Despite all that we started well, took the lead and only conceded when down to 10 men. And in the end we 'only' lost by two goals where one of those should never ever have stood. Disappointing overall but as Jules says, we're clearly a team that can mix with the best in this league and this league itself is a step up for us this year. Onwards to next week where if we carry on our general form of late should see us getting back to winning ways.

clearly they were a good team, they are top of the league and now 10 points clear of us, so theres no shame in defeat. i think however all the negativity after the game was completely OTT, everything that could possibly go against us tonight, did.

apart from the fact they were the better team, we were desperately unlucky, i felt we were well in it until Derek went off injured and we were 5 seconds away from going in at half time 1-0 up and with 11 men.

instead, 5 minutes into the second half we are down to 9 men and they scored the 2nd about 5 seconds after Jack was coming on.

we are talking very small margins here being the difference between 1-0 up and 2-1 down, fair play to them they capitalized on it but at 11 V 11, its a different game. their 3rd, still with 10 men, was a joke of a goal, as to how the ref allowed it to stand was laughable.

we re-covered well and could have nicked a goal or 2 once we came back to 11 v 11 but the damage was done in that 10 minute period when we were 2, then 1 man down. make no mistake, they are a very good team but they got alot of breaks tonight and fair play to them for that. the ref had a shocker and thats the 3rd or 4th time this season its happened us though ultimately the injuries cost us more than anything else. they had 5 good chances in the whole game and scored 3 of them, all in a crazy 10 minute period. we created as much as they did.

need to try have 13 lads up next week, its a must win game. we need to take the positives from that tonight also, of which there were a good few.

it was a tough game no doubt. We scored a great goal to take a deserved lead.

Their RW was insanely fast, tbh no one on the team could have kept pace with him.
For the most part we kept him limited to crosses in which were cut out or over hit.

Just a shame on the injuries, we would have been capable of beating them with 11 fit players.

playing the top team twice, we threw away 2 points by letting them come back from 3-1 down in the first game, i think we would have been worth a point at least last night if we had 11 players.

also shows you the value of having a couple of subs, especially on such a big pitch.

Big game against Real Punters next week who are in 3rd

Wouldn't be too negative either on what I saw, second week in a row I've left to retrieve the ball and they've equalised..

9 men, injured striker, 'sinbinned' midfielder, equaliser, obstinate referee (in relation to third goal and how long the yellow lasted) and all sorts of rearranged positions to accomodate it all at the same time were difficult circumstances to overcome.

I think it's very important to be compact and defend the centre of that pitch, there was a play before the second goal where they were passing it around and around, got nowhere and then lumped it in from the wing straight to Ed. but circumstances meant that eventually with 9/10 men/injured keeper that they would get through.

Thanks for the 3 years boys its been enjoyable for the most part. It's been festering for a while as I'm not enjoying playing with some players on that team and I suppose the feeling is mutual so it's probably for the best.

Just want to say something about the game, we 110% had chances with 11 players to probably warrant a draw but in terms of overall team play they were significantly better than us. None of thier players are uncomfortable on the ball and go route one, they pass it at every opportunity. Contrast that to us, yes we had chances but they must have controlled 80% of the game. I felt like I was chasing shadows and covering 2-3 positions as people couldn't get back

Within 2 minutes of that game being played I walked over to Des and said we're going to get killed on our left if you don't have Joules stay wide and provide support for Ally. (Not speaking ill of you Ally but he was pretty fast) to which Des brushed me off and said I've asked him to play in the middle. Great.... who killed us all game, the right winger. He must have put 15 crosses into the box, a good few of which they could have scored with and he pretty much was an outlet for every quick attack they had. But no worries lets not bother to do anything about him.

Its no coincidence that when certain players are missing that routinely start when they shouldn't be the team looks weaker as a whole. There are players going forward that need Taxi's to get back over the halfway line and then try to shift blame onto others to pepper over their own cracks.

You would want to Listen to ED/DFX before and after the game because tactically they're the only people making sense, this approach you seem to have brought up from the social standard of we can score more than you is ridiculous. The previous 5 games where we had 4 wins and 1 draw was a result of the team being compact and the full backs not going to far forward and the wingers helping out. There was none of that the other night and we got slaughtered.

Jack it was a joy to play with you for the short time I did, class player.

Adios boys, I might see you on the opposite side next season, If I do take it easy on me.
