There are places that will laser cut a gasket for you. I think Kemtron in Cork is one.

BTW, I bought sheets like that on eBay. It's as good as any other gasket you can buy (assuming you have the right grade), but cutting it is a PITA.

hmmmm. nice one lads. I have a dremel tool, i wonder would that do for cutting the holes. have a straight grinder also but its a pretty violent tool for that job.

hi all, i need to make a gasket thats no longer available, was looking at this stuff on ebay, and wondering is it any good - its for an exhaust downpipe so it will get hot.

Also does anyone know if its possible to buy in a regular motor factors here in Ireland.

    cheers.

Have a sheet of that stuff, can't remember what I used it for but I do remember it was a b1tch to cut out the hole. Think I used a hole saw on a variable speed drill, going quite slow!

I had to make a fix on my BMW along the same lines.

Kemtron are excellent for gasketing, I got stuff from them before, really good service.

Seeing as it would be to fill very small gaps. And an online guide suggested the material should be aluminium or copper. I was wondering would a cut beer can do? Or maybe a couple of layers of it.

Copper plate or Beer can wouldnt take the anealing, multiple layers would increase the probability of leaks.

I wonder what the OP did in the end
