Was told when getting my tracking done that there was a slight amount of play in the driveshaft. I am wondering if this would effect the cars handling at all ?

Yes play will effect handling. However some play is par of the course with certain vehicles and some suffer with play in the right side drifts shaft depending on drive rear forward etc.

    Depends on the vehicle

Mk3 mondeo, the car has brutal road holding and does tend to understeer a lot, the tyres are all good and the front ball joint were only changed recently.
