Jobbridge Interview

Hi. I tried searching the answer to this but I couldnt find it. I received a letter from the SWO to send in proof of applying for jobs. had already applied for places in 2014 but needed some to add to my 2015 list. I applied for an internship with jobbridge as I was a bit lazy during january. So i randomly picked two internships in my qualification to add to the list.

Low and behold I got an email asking to come to interview with one of these internships. Now I didn't even want the internship in the first place because I just applied for it to boost up the places I applied to.

So now im wondering should I just ignore this email and 'pretend' I never got it or do the host organisations in job bridge contact the social welfare office saying that they have asked this person and that person to attend an interview with their host organisation.

Also if I didnt turn up would they contact the social welfare office to tell them this.? Because if they didnt notify the social welfare office then I would sure as hell choose my internships more carefully and not a spur of the moment again thing like I regret now

    1. Don't ignore the e-mail. You should at least have the courtesy to reply...

    2. The host company probably won't contact Welfare, but if Welfare find out you applied, were called for interview and didn't go, you might have some explaining to do.

    3. Choose your Jobbridge applications more carefully next time. That might help!

You are under no obligation to reply back to the company. Half of me agrees with ABajaninCork that it is the polite thing to do. But so many companies out there do not reply back to you, even by email, to let you know you were unsuccessful.

And there is literally only a 0.01% chance that an employer would ever contact the social welfare. You would have to come across such a vindictive individual who some how felt snubbed that you didnt get back. We're talking about when the moon and stars align here :p It's like not you confirmed an interview and left someone hanging :p (even then... unlikely)

Just ignore the email and you'll be fine. This is an non-issue. Come on lollypopgurl25, internship positions get dozens of applicants. Some times hundreds. You'll just be another person who didnt reply back :p
