Could be lots of things. Can you get someone to check the battery and do a scan for codes? Presuming diesel it could be glow plugs on their way out.

I know it swings over very healthily. assume its not battery. i plan to get it scanned. are there any tips for getting it started if its swinging

Not really. Just keep turning it until it starts. Could also be fuel pump related.

Same problem with mine bmw petrol . Its the crankshaft sensor gone on mine so the ecu doesnt know that the engine is turning over so wont supply spark to the plugs.
