I've been using argan oil on my hair for about 6 months now. It's grand, but if it even touches my skin around the base of my neck, I break out in sore spots. What alternative conditioning oils are useful? I need something that I can put on wet hair and not have to rinse out :)

    Have you tried coconut oil?:)

Not yet, because I wasn't sure if you can leave it in or if you need to wash it out? Also, is it not solid? I've seen it recommended as a moisturiser too so it might just be worth getting a big tub of it!

I tend to use it as a mask and leave it in overnight but I have read online that you can rub it into the ends and leave it in :) I microwave it for a few seconds and it turns to liquid - if you rub it between your hands it softens really quickly too! I get a plastic tub of it in tesco for 1.99 :)

I tried coconut oil in my hair. It did leave it super soft but it didn't rinse out properly so my hair looked kinda greasy :/

I use this when I need it, it smells absolutely gorgeous too, it doesn't look or feel greasy either.

Its the Organix repairing awapuhi ginger dry styling oil.

PS: I hope you don't mind me saying, but you are so lucky in Canada, all the beauty brands you can get there that we can't get here. I'm so jealous! Spoil yourself! :)

Coconut oil doesn't come out easily. I put it in my children's scalps biweekly as they have dry scalp and it helps that a lot, but it takes at least two shampoos before it looks non-greasy again.

    Same for avocado oil!

The argan oils for hair are often blended with something else, maybe try a different brand, check the ingredients.

    Great suggestions, thanks!

Yeah, it's delightful, tbh :). I'm getting intimately acquainted with Sephora. They've recently opened a new flagship store here :D

I got some free Moroccan Oil at the weekend. It's basically the same thing, but it'll be interesting to see if the different blend changes anything.

If not, I'll try a couple of the other suggestions here, although I'll leave off the coconut oil. The last thing I want is greasy or weighed down hair :)

I wouldn't be much of a help, I'm afraid. It's taken me longer to get on my feet than I expected, and Shoppers/London Drugs and Sephora are the only places I've really looked. But department stores like Hudson's Bay and possibly Holt Renfew might have more high-end stuff? What kind of things can't you find?
