    Please share this information Greenway Public Meeting. A public information meeting on the subject of a Greenway for South Sligo will take place on Tuesday February 17th in the Yeats County Hotel in Curry at 8pm. The proposed Greenway would follow the route of the disused railway running from Collooney to Charlestown and potentially southwards through Mayo to connect with the Great Western Greenway near Swinford and to Athenry in Galway, to connect with the Dublin Galway greenway.

    The meeting will be addressed by journalist and trailway enthusiast, John Mulligan and by local Greenway campaigner, Brendan Quinn. Everyone with an interest in the proposal is encouraged to attend.

    Hopefully the meeting will go well although I'd be doubtful which is a shame.

    Tourism is the way forward in Mayo, everything is on our doorstep. Keep these Greenways coming and we'll be the envy of the rest of the country.

    There was a great turnout at the meeting last night. A great presentation given about the proposed Western Rail Trail and a lot of common sense shown too. A lot of positivity from everyone in attendance with everyone behind the project and wanting to see it implemented as soon as possible.

    Ocean FM were there and here's the link to the report;
