Hi, I have missed a deadline and was told i was too late to hand up stuff as they were gone off to be corrected.
However today my tutor told me that i could hand up the 2 assignments no problem.
So when really is the deadline if any?
I thought all could be handed up before the course is due to end.
Don't they get corrected over the summer?!

It's when the college says it is. When I did my L6, the deadlines were never extended without a note from a medical professional stating reasons that I wasn't able to complete the work. My assignments were marked as the course went on throughout the year, so we got provisional grades back fairly quickly. Then the externals come in and mark a selection of them (I believe).

If you are doing a course which started in September and is finishing in May, then everything has to be corrected by May, when the external moderators come in.

Every college has its own rules about deadlines, and, to be honest, every teacher should stick to the rules. If your teacher is bending the rules for you in this instance, I'd just accept it and not take it that there's an easy going policy. Bending rules is not the norm, because then everyone would be doing it and the people who have assignments in on time would be rather annoyed. And teachers would never get anything marked!
