    http://toys.scanner.today/ie/index_week.html

Link shows items reduced today, more items due to be reduced in the next day or two,
I managed to get a few bits early today, however when my sister went in at lunch time they were clearing all the sale items off the shelves into trolleys and said they will be restocking them on Tuesday next when the sale starts! Big of a mix up somewhere, but there will be bargains to be had on Tuesday next.

No I really don't think so, from looking at comments on another bargain thread (beady eye bargains on Facebook) all stores were told to pull the stock off the shelves and put back into stores until Tuesday even though there were customers there trying to buy them, very odd ....

Was in smyths this morning. The items are showing as full price in store but when they are scanned they show up as the reduced price. The girl did say a big sale was starting on Tuesday.

Assassins Creed Unity is the only game on sale? I guess they have to try and get rid of it somehow!

No issues buying at the reduced prices?

No problem at all. Just asked the girl to scan it and it showed as reduced price.

1 last question- from the link above. Is it all toys on that (last 7 days) or just those showing as Today

Was in the 1 here off Jervis St at lunch time. Very few of the items in stock- none of the Turtles bags I was after.
Some wrestling figurines, spider man vehicles etc

Is this sale starting tomorrow? Do you know if it's online too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 470 ✭✭craggy2

Yes, starts tomorrow, in store only...lots of reductions that aren't listed, they were stocking up this evening...

I don't have kids but someone mentioned to me the other day that she waits for these sales and buys a heap of toys for her own kids to bring as gifts to bday parties they're invited to over the course of the year. She has 3 kids in primary so that's over 15 parties a year between them at €15 a gift.
Might be well worth some peoples while thinking a head here and doing some bulk buying if you're in a similar situation. Prices look great on some things.

any idea what smyth blanch is like?

Anybody got any idea if Ken Black are running the same offers? They are very hit & miss with sales and tend to roll out the usual excuse of "we are part of Smyths but not when stuff is reduced".

Some great bargains but you would need reflexes of a cat :) staff said they had pallets of stuff out the back and ppl were asking them to let them out back :) staff were trying to restock the 1/5/10 euro shelves and ppl were ripping the stock from their carts without even looking at it. I suspect some will end up on Moore st! Why else would someone need 20 Doc Mc Stuffin backpacks and 20 Turtles ones. They had a sign up saying number of items would be restricted per person so I saw the backpack family with their four trollies staking out a corner of the shop to divide the loot evenly amongst the triollies so they could get around any restrictions!! I had needed two mian things which were slightly reduced and picked up two toys for baby gifts and spent a few minutes wandering about just watching the madness!

Just had a look at some of the stuff I got and the reductions are now all marked on the website

Sad sad people, some always seem to turn into animals when a sale is on, any idea if Xbox one or ps4 games were on sale?

I didnt look in that section to be honest (and its right next to customer service where the mob were) but there was certainly a few calls for staff to go to that area so maybe?

guess it is worthless trying to get over at lunch? probably stripped bare!!

Called in at 9:30 this morning to check out some of the discounted games. There were quite a few people there with FULL SHOPPING TROLLIES. Bananas.

It was like the end of days in Kinsale Road this morning. Staff taking boxes out from the back were being stopped by customers before they even got to the shelves. Fair dues to the staff, they were brilliant and really accommodating. I've never seen anything like the number of people going around with full trollies - you'd swear it was Christmas all over again.

Picked up some LEGO, some Marvel stuff and a few other bits and bobs. Not everything that was reduced was on the website or the Smyths Scanner site, so I got few unexpected bargains. Happy days!

Just back from smyths liffey valley - very busy and people with trolley loads grabbing stuff off the shelves as fast as it was stacked (if it made it that far) A lot of the stuff put out was mostly girls toys at the minute but apparently the boy stuff was coming when there was room.

Got one or two bargains but it was difficult to have a good look. The ps3 and xbox 360 discounted games were almost cleared so if there was xbox one or ps4 I would say they are long gone!

Anyone looking to go in later in the day the shelves were being constantly restacked but not sure how much longer the stuff will be there!

got a couple of things in limerick this morning but managed to get out of there before it got too mad - lego castle set @ €50 was the best deal. Boy 1 can ask for it again next christmas and I can guarantee Santa will deliver this time.

one of the staff said they were expecting another delivery on Thursday and that the sale is on for the next 3 weeks, so don't blow everything today - staff don't know what will go on or off sale so could be a different set of toys next week.

there were xbox, playtation and nintendo games included in the sale too.

Jervis Street was quiet just before lunch with the majority of reduced stock in or around the tills

Picked up the LEGO City 4439: Heavy Lift Helicopter for €20. Sweet bargain! Not listed on the clearance page. currently selling on amazon for £50.

Chilers Road Limerick have lots of toys, very little decent in terms of games. Picked up TR: Definitive Edition on Xbox One for a tenner (ast one) but that was probably the best bargain.
