Hibernia Degrees vs. traditional PMEs

    Hi all,

Just looking at different options for applying for Professional Masters of Education courses. I was just wondering if, when applying for a job, does where you have gotten your degree matter? For example, if I were to do a degree with Hibernia, would I be at a disadvantage to those who had done their degrees at colleges where there are more contact hours? If so, which colleges are known as providing the best degrees?

    Thanks!

I don't think choosing one college over another will make a huge difference. I think it'll depend upon the impression that you make in the school, and the suitability of your subjects to that school.

Hibernia students are in for blocks, so get to see the workings of the school Monday to Friday, and are more visible in the staffroom.

On the other hand, students who are on placement 1-2 day(s) a week, are there for a longer period of the year. The contact hours are the same.

Be careful - before you jump into post primary, be warned .....the job situation is terrible!!!
