Oxford Hot Grips v7 - Button frustration!

Anyone use Hot Grips v7? With the cold weather I've been using them, or trying to! Didnt have problems in the past but lately the + button isn't working unless I repeatedly press it over and over and eventually it will work. Anyone have suggested workarounds if I take it apart?
