    Issue 1:

Has 2 gb of memory, only 0.6 gb of it used so far... and yet I keep getting errors of insufficient memory whenever I try to install anything.

More so when said thing I can't install are software updates for the phone itself!

    What gives?

    Issue 2:

Whenever I save a picture on the device, it gets saved twice... into "My Gallery" and "Downloads"...

Why's it doing this ? Both the gallery and downloads are showing nearly the same amount of space taken up.

    What xperia is it?
its worth noting that that 3gb might not be ram, which is important, if you can install super atool box from here
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.lepeng.superboxss&hl=en
    * even if you uninstall something like facebook just to see, then click on Memory / cpu button here.
that will tell you how much is free.

It's a Sony Xperia M, has 739MB Phone Memory (RAM?) and 2GB [that 3 was a typo] internal memory... there's damn all installed on it, and it's just floating on 100mb left phone memory with 1.4gb internal memory, and incapable of installing any updates. :|

This is the problem older phones have.
not enough internal memory/storage even for updates.

    what Ste said.
is terrible to think that nowadays phone manufacturers are getting away with still making 1gb ram in phones. when you take into account the os and ****e running in the background you would be lucky to find yourself with nearly 350mb of ram once you install apps like whatsapp and facebook. its honestly going to be a decent enough fone for an 8 year old who plays basic games but its really hard to get anything running on that with that ram. sorry :(

    Seems like it, especially after seeing daytob's 3GB vs my 739MB >_<;

I have 3gb of ram in my phone. theres not a tiny bit of lag at all in it. but a lot of phones have around 2. just post in here or on the thread and ask peoples opinions.
the 55 is like my sd card ;)

Try cleaning your app cache. You can do this manually through settings or download an app from the play store to do it.

Your second complaint is nonsense anyway. The my gallery app just shows pictures saved to the memory. The picture is only in your downloads folder.

If it has a version of Android prior to kikat(4.4), you should be able to put in an sd card. Then root the device, finally install a2sd and force it to share the memory of the phone with that of the sd card.
Just Google "a2sd" and you will get instructions.... It's sounds more difficult than it is.
