Full License / N Plates

    Hi,

I passed my driving test on 10th December. I only bought a new provisional a week before it as I lost my previous one. Basically does anyone know if my 2 years on N plates starts from the date I pass my test or the day I actually physically have my full license? On the RSA website it says novice starts once you are granted full license...I'm taking that as when you pass your test!?

Im driving with my test certificate and provisional license with N plates up at the moment.

    Anyone have information on this?

    Thanks

I'm not sure which date you go from - I'd imagine it's the date on the full license. But you want to trade that Cert in for a full license asap, technically you aren't allowed to drive with it and depending on the garda you may run into issues if you're stopped. At the NDLS centre they will give you a receipt once you apply for the full license which you can use if you're stopped - they may ask you to produce within 7 days at a garda station but (hopefully) you should have received your full license by then.

My driving licence says it was issued on the day I passed the test so both dates should be the same
