We as a company (small company of 10) need to:

    1. Replace a member of staff who has been out on long-term illness and now decided that he is unable to return to work. He has been covered on overtime in the past and now need to get someone in as we go forward.

    2. Cover a female operative who is going on maternity and probably take the unpaid leave as well at the end - so could be out for 9 months or so.

Just wondering if anyone can direct me to any links on Grants etc for taking on staff. Would any of the above qualify. The work is shift work.

Any contribution to costs would be very useful as we are a small company.

It would depend on the employee you are taking on. If the person was for example long-term unemployed jobplus might be an option.

Theres one called JobsPlus at the moment, if someone has been on the social for the past year, you get €7,500 towards their salary.

€10,000 if they have been job seeking for more than 1 year
