something weird has happened last 2 night there has been a hard frost
the average fuel display resets to 99 and average km to 0
the led display is also sluggish when switching from one reading to another
it's happened twice now since xmas . I had the water pump replaced before Xmas and coolant as well if that may be a factor ?

I'd say your battery might be struggling.

I have the same issue with the car (05) since I got it (09).

I got a new battery recently and it still happens. Its no biggie and doesn't bother me. Once the temp/car heats up the issue is gone.

I have seen slow response LED display issues on a number of cars when its very cold but not incorrect readings.

I never noticed it resetting, but it can be very slow to get going.

LCD Displays are sensitive to low temperatures. The 'liquid crystal' doesn't like anything too far below room temperature. Certainly near or below freezing you'll have issues with displaying.

As regards the resetting, its possible you have a small bit of moisture back there. Remember when its cold, and you drive, the car interior warms up. When you step out at the end, the cold air is rushing in and mixing with the warm. Hence their will be a shade condensation occurring. Over a period of time, especially on warm electronics cooling down, you can get some moisture across a switch contact. Its not a problem and should eventually dry out. Some silica crystals could help, placed on the dash when the car is warm.
