Get the 1.25 litre, it's light years ahead of the older 1.3 litre unit.

Have my 03 1.3 for nearing 4 years now. Has passed the NCT with flying colours every year - only failed this year on shocks which haven't had to be done since I got the car. They've a timing chain which is great, I find mine great on fuel and very reliable - it's never once let me down.

You can't get the 1.3 in the 03 on model

You can.. Mine is a 1.3 duratec 8v. Grand car so they are. fuel wise it's not to bad and I'd have a heavy right foot.
