It is shocking for a few weeks now. Im based in Northside Dublin.

Anyone know what is going on? Has an exchange collapsed or something? It drops out every few minutes and then comes back 10-20 seconds later. The box is brand new so it's not at my end.

Id ring them except that would probably take two hours to speak to a human. It is VERY annoying when you rely on it for work as I do.

Ive heard mixed things about UPC too. Is Eircom on the blink in Dublin lately?

Fault on your line? Have you checked your line stats?

Just because the box is brand new doesn't mean it can't have a fault.

What service do you have with them btw? Is it adsl or vdsl (efiber)?

Had this problem for a couple of weeks and turned out to be the router was the problem. The wifi signal was drifting in strength no matter how close or far away from the router I was, and the signal would drop then be difficult to reconnect to, then reconnect suddenly and go through the same sequence again. Luckily I had a spare new router, and when I set it up....boom!problem solved.

I wouldn't assume the router is not faulty just cause it's new.

Can't understand why you invested in a service but are reluctant to engage in customer support help! Have you had bad experience before?

Infairness to them they don't take too get around to your call provided youre not calling at peak hours. They have good online chat support too which is answered immediately.
That said they havent resolved my issues but they were at least responsive and fast about it.

It could well be your router.
I had a fair share of eircom routers failing on me, even the latest ones.
Check the log of the router and see if that helps.
