Seems to be very little fuss about this in 2015 as its not a national series event.

Anyway i'm in for the sprint distance, anyone else ?

flatish bike, unless it's wet should be a fast course. just watch the speed bumps coming out of/back into UL. 2 loop run, little to no traffic.

what swim time did you put down? What's the goal finishing time?

    Sounds good :)

Put down 30 mins , what I can do in a 25m pool , judging by last years time that may be a bit slow though. Hoping to finish the whole thing in about 2.18.

Yeah not looking great..heavy showers and highs of 8-11. always tough to know what to waer on the bike after a pool swim as you cant have it under your wetsuit.

In the olympic is wave 1 the fast wave or the slower wave?

Bit of discussion going on about this.

Rumour has it that buoyancy shorts are allowed and have been allowed in the past, yet Triathlon Ireland have replied to a post on Twitter this morning saying they are looking into the matter.

Didn't triathlon Ireland reply to a message on twitter asking earlier in the year saying they are not allowed? Think it was after it came up on here.

Then as now it was me that brought it up on Twitter.

Then as now they said that they are not allowed in competition.

Then was after last years Joey Hannon.
    Now is before.

Lets see what happens on Sunday.

same bike course every year. all you need to do is do LTC's other race the Hotw and it averages out, that's 44km long:)

On off chance , anyone on here know the name of the photographer that was sitting on the hill taking photos half way through the bike course on Sunday? Inquired with TRI Limerick but they don't seem to have any idea who it was!

    Just the GPS.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,584 ✭✭✭✭tunney

    Just the GPS.

Recommend for most, particularly power meter users, not to use GPS for speed, and by extension distance. Nice little strava maps yes. but thats it.

Distance measured at the wheel is going to be far more accurate than variable GPS reading. (as long as you calibrate for wheel and tyre size)
