    Hi
I am going to buy heating oil (500L) and still have some in the tank but soon we will be moving out to new house. Tank is above ground.
What would be the easiest and cheapest way to pump it out?
    Regards

Ask the delivery driver to do it. Usually they'll take it back for a fee and credit your account for next time.

I willl ask but would like to take it with me as it would be cheaper(?). Depends how much would cost pump to take it out.

You could also pump it out yourself. But you will need barrels, a kerosene pump and the knack to prime the pump. Pump must be a wet pump otherwise you risk losing your eyebrows.

Would you not just get 200L for now?

I am thinking is it worth(250lx2 works like €100 more than buying 500l at once). But buiyng wet pump for more that €50 makes it all pointless.
Was thinking also about removing the hose from valve and just open valve to take most of it - for free without buying anything at oil.

Would something like this syphon pump do the job.
