My wife and I buy 20 euro's of credit a month on prepay.
We then IOU buddy 10 euro each to our mobile wifi device.
That buys 7.5gb of data for a month.
Enough to surf the net and check your email on the various tablets/laptops around the house.

Sigh. Its prepay, so your money is gone anyway. Instead of buying a data add on, which you can't tether to any other device, or instead of spending the credit on phone calls after your freecalls have expired, use this method to get some value out of your 20 quid top up.

Some of us don't want to pay for a landline/broadband, so this is a good way to still have email/surf access at home at no extra cost

I went with the tesco "unlimited" which gets me 15Gb and is 50 a month. This really helped me as I've moved place three times in the last two years meaning I can avoid all the hassle of setting up broadband by using it as a hub.

I've been IOU buddying for 3 years, so hope not.
Its actually the only reason I stay with the provider!

Can you tether to that i.e. use the phone as a wifi hotspot?
Most providers seem to block tethering and eat up your call credit instead of the data allowance.

I've been on this deal for quite a while now and I have to say it seems to be the best mobile phone deal around.

Plus Tesco sends out a 150 points voucher in their mailings from time to time which is another nice little bonus :D

If you live in a semi detached and you or your neighbour have broadband from eircom etc, then share and simply split the costs.

Go into Harvey Norman and buy a Belkin Wireless Access Point. they cost about €60. if you have fiber broadband and a newer eircom router, the belkin will pick up and regurgitate about 75% of the signal. Considering most home operations require a max of 3mb this is more then enough

so for 25€ per month, you and your neighbour both have unlimited high speed broadband

Works with all major proividers, providing you dont have 3ft thick walls

    Simple :)
