Have seen an interesting one, which may be applicable to the Security forum as well. http://tech.slashdot.org/story/15/01/30/1912237/us-army-releases-code-for-internal-forensics-framework It would appear the US Army release its Internal Forensics Framework to Github. I noted this too, but since I don't know python I figured I would be wasting my time checking it out.

Looking at comments so far, it seems this is a wireshark equivalent rather than anything truly new.
