Ride on

Looking for some advice on a ride on mower. Looking at two options really. A mountfield 827M Compact, 73cm wide, 3.4 hp and the 1530M, 90cm wide, 11.27 hp.
It's for cutting grass at a holiday home in the country consisting of a lawn as well as an orchard that is partly hilly. My main question would be whether the smaller one would have enough horse power to tackle the hilly bits or if it's geared more to flat areas. Would the larger one have enough horse power to pull light enough loads in a trailer or are none of the lower specced mowers suitable for that? Any advice much appreciated.

Just had a brief look at the spec on the 827M - it has a 196cc engine. A 21 inch walk behind lawnmower will have a 190cc engine, and it only has to drive a blade and pull itself along, never mind adding the weight of a ride on and driver.

If it was me I would be going for a ride on with either a Briggs and Stratton or a Honda engine. (The Honda can be a little more expensive).

Mountfield are made by a company called GGP, they also make Castelgarden, Stiga and Alpina - as well as making mowers for other brands. They all have equivalent models with slight variations on spec. The Stiga and Castelgarden versions have B&S engines and should be similar in price to the Mountfield.
