Hi, I've a problem with the windows store on main pc. It has been updated with 8.1 and laptop has windows store working fine and downloading apps grand. I tried a few things to fix it but nothing happening. I've been looking at the settings on main pc, looking at support online.

I've tried all the tips I found that might be useful but its not much use. I tried connecting the main pc apps store account with laptop can do that but thought it might install an app from laptop directly to main pc through the windows store but installed onto the laptop instead. It said can install on multiple pcs whether that is a the same time or have to do something else to automatically do that I don't know.

I get a message each time I go into windows store that its not available and cannot connect to a server.

I've tried restarting and doing updates on pc but doesn't seem to be doing the job? Keep getting a message to update but then go into main settings and more or less telling me there are no updates or no running updates? I’ve tried adjusting the firewall settings, it does allow ‘store’ so should be ok? I’ve checked internet connections and working fine. Could it be the anti-virus software and or firewall is too strong

Any suggestions be most helpful? Have attached what appears for me on screen.

This might help you with the Windows Update issue - hold the Windows key and press R for the Run box, type services.msc into the box and press Enter. On the list that appears, scroll down to Windows Update and make sure that the Windows Update service is running and is set to Automatic. Then reboot try running Windows Update again.

I tried that and looked into windows update settings further and seemed like it had been incorrectly updated or something, said was fixed through troubleshooting but no difference. Keep being asked to update pc.

There is an issue with the catalyst control centre saying host application has stopped working as well.

No luck with the windows store either. I try again with that. I am comparing the settings for both laptop and pc to see if there is a difference but more or less the same settings?

    Thanks for your help.

Very odd indeed. Maybe try this link. I'm not much of an expert on Windows Update issues unfortunately because I've never had a problem with it before myself!

Thanks for that, the updates seemed to have worked better since just took a bit of time and adjusting for it to be sorted out. I thought I would have to install windows 8.1 again. The Windows Store is finally working fine now! Windows needed to update before windows store appeared again.
