Recommendations for new battery?

Hi folks! I've been vaping for a year now, but when I look through this forum I feel like a complete newbie all over again! I started out using just a plain battery and tank that you get in a starter kit, over the past few months I've upgraded to the vision espinner and love it, I have a small one and a big one but I think the big one might have been a knock off version? I got it in England so don't really know. Anyway because of this, I'm going to buy a new battery, so where do I go from here? I feel like getting something 'fancier' but don't even know where to start with them! I like using the kanger t2 tanks, so whatever battery I get I would like that to fit into it.
So basically something that would have a very long battery life, variable voltage, and can fit the t2. Anyone have recommendations? :D

How much do you plan to spend ?

Anywhere under €70 I'd reckon, got an unexpected day in work today so have a bit of extra cash this week :P

My current favourite is the IPV mini from thebestshop.eu , you can get it delivered to your door for €48:50 using the promotion code irishvape . You then need an 18650 battery for about €12 to €15 ,I got a Sony VTC 4 for mine , you can charge it internally or buy an external charger .

A lot on here have been recommending the iStick recently and you can get them from any of the online retail Vape vendors here in Ireland anywhere from €35 to €45 , the advantage here is that the battery is built into it so you just charge it with a usb lead ( for me this was the disadvantage ) .

It depends on what tanks you use or may use in the future.

If you're not planning on sub ohming the trusty Istick will be a big step on the spinner. Maybe get the 2nd generation version as the threads on it are superior.

Thanks! I wouldn't really be into the whole building my own set up thing, honestly half of the things people say on this are like double dutch to me, so I think I'll check out the Istick! Would the t2 fit into it or would I have to buy new tanks?

Oh and seeing as I have a thread open, does anyone have any good recommendations for menthol liquids? I was using the smoke free ireland menthol but they haven't had the 18mg in stock recently where I usually buy so I'm using wingnuts extreme menthol. I've tried a few more but they mostly have a real sickly mediciny type taste to them (funnily enough I find this is the case with the slightly yellow liquids, I love any of the clear ones!)

Just having a look around online, there's an aspire istick with mini nautilus and 7mls of juice for €70, would there be much of a difference between the eleaf and the aspire?

If u like the t2s I wrecken u should try the kanger tech aero tank mega and an I stick. I've loads of devices but these would be my main used combination.

Is that at irishvape.com. com Mango?

I can't post a link but they've got the istick and nautilus mini with 5 coils for 70. That's a good price. The nautilus mini is a great tank. The istick is made by eleaf, it's just the tank that's aspire. Only downside to that is the istick is the V1 which only goes to 20w (not really a problem) and they fixed a couple of build quality issues with the 30w (V2)

Nearly perfect considering you wanted to spend 70 quid.

I saw it on esmoke ireland, the only difference is it comes with liquid instead of coils, I think I would prefer the coils!
had a look at the 30v one too... I think it might be better to go for that and buy the nautilus seperately? Just from reading about problems people were having with the original version!

Yeah, you'd be better off buying the 30w version because they've fixed up some issues that were present in the 20w

As for a recommendation for a liquid - extreme menthol is great, I think, but if you're not keen, you could try crystal menthol by artisan eliquids. It's very menthol-y :)

Am in the same boat regarding the purchase of an new battery. Had some recommendations for the Innokin MVP 20W over the istick?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,035 ✭✭✭✭J Mysterio

    Nah, get the 30w iStick.

I had the 20w MVP and it was not as hardy as I had hoped. The centre pin was fecked after 2 months and it is a very big device in comparison despite not having a better battery life.

People keep pushing the fact that you can charge phones off of the MVP as a big bonus over the istick but you can get a portable power bank for less than a tenner and I'd be more worried about running low on my ecig battery than my phone.

Just to go against the grain. If you don't want a bigger / heavier mod (e.g. the MVP) or something inaccurate like the iStick (melting coils and my brain), there's the Innokin VV 3.0. It's only an 800 mah battery, and it is ego sized, but it has VV and VW and I have used it for over a year with no issues whatsoever. It fits in the pocket easily and works, despite being dropped numerous times!

The iStick / MVP etc are really great devices for what they are but not everyone likes carrying a metal brick around. 2 VV 3s do me great, I have a usb cable for it in work so I never run out. I do enjoy the iStick battery life, but it is so terribly inaccurate it's not great for generic clearos. I've never gone above 7.5 watts on any generic clearo (evod, iClear etc) so getting a 30w mod isn't really for me. I'm not disagreeing with the suggestions, just posting a total alternative to the box mods.

An itaste vv 3.0 is my main battery and it's great but only lasts me around 3 hours of use. The vv4.0 has a marginally better battery at 1000 Mah.

If you could get it at a good price it could be a contender but I paid 35 euro for it! I could have had an istick online for that, or I could've had a smokjoy cfiber 30w with a 2400 mah battery for the same price in the same ship a month later.

I've decided I'm going to go with the 30v istick and the nautilus mini! Just on the nautilus, what's it like for leakage/gurgling? Started on a new t2 last night and it's already leaking!

Oh and thanks for the liquid recommendation! Just as an example, the bottle on the left is the one I like, it's liquid is clear, whereas the other three are all a yellowy colour and have that icky medicine antiseptic taste. Does anyone else who uses mentholated find this?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 598 ✭✭✭RIchieNouveau

The nautilus mini hasn't leaked a drop nor gurgled once since I got it last week. It's been a revelation to me. I didn't know a tank could be that good, but it's only been a week! I received some aerotank mega clones in the post from another forum user and have been vaping on it for the last couple of hours and it's also had no leaks or gurgles so if you have 13USD knocking about I'd recommend ordering one on FastTech, it'll come in a month or so and be a great backup to the nautilus mini if the worst happens.

On liquids, I don't vape menthol but I used to think the colour was an indicator too and shied away from dark liquids. Most of my liquids were orangey yellow. The worst one I've ever had is the yellow colour you describe but I'm thinking it's coincidence now. I'm vaping a dark red liquid this morning called Apis from "The Eliquid Factory" and it's really nice. I'm using the steel tank on the aerotank so can't see in to the tank at all to see if it looks as sticky and cloggy as I feared a dark liquid would be, but it's vaping lovely.

Sorry to doublepost, edit function not working for some reason.

I've just looked at your pic Mango and I've also been vaping a year and have never seen a liquid as clear as your favoured one. Nearly all I've mine have been a slightly darker yellow than the ones you don't like and most have tasted fine whereas some have been revolting, so yeah I still don't think colour is a great indicator but perhaps someone with more experience or menthol will disagree.

I've just remembered, the only mint juice I've bought is very dark orange, close to red and it's been fine with no medicinal taste I noticed. It's called Frost from Wicked EJuice.

Great to know for the nautilus, thanks!
I have 2 pure clear menthol liquids that I like, they have a nice cool hit without being overly flavoured. I love the Frost one too, I wouldn't use it as my main all day vape though, it becomes a little over powering. But that would be a favourite 'treat' vape :D

Try Gins Addiction (Halcyon Haze). Its a gin/ mint/ aniseed/ etc. fusion and is pretty light coloured. VapourPal have it.

Very fast delivery I must say from the best shop, only ordered it two days ago and it's here! I'll set up when I'm home from work, dying to try it out!!

Well holy moly isn't it fab! Lovely strong hit, loads of vapour and even easy enough for my not very technology loving mother! Have it on 7w and 4v at the mo and love it!
