Resignation and Jury Duty

Looking very likely I'll be accepting a new position tomorrow and handing in my notice to my current job, I have a 4 week notice period. My issue is that over my 4 week period I've to attend jury duty, I've looked on Citizens Information and Courts.ie but can't see anything that outlines my situation.

So basically I'm wondering does jury duty count as part of my 4 weeks? If not how likely would it be to get my jury duty written off?

    Thanks in advance.

AFAIK Jury duty is statutory and would count as leave

You can plead your case to the judge to be exempt if you are chosen to serve
