Just a quick question. Getting off the plane today I seemed to notice what looked like 4 or 5 hawks or falcons in close proximity to each other that seemed to be tied to a pole and were flying in 1 spot? How long are the birds tied there for as it seems to be a bit inhumane?

Are you sure they were real and not a bird scarer?

Could of been. I was a good 500 yards away from them but they looked real :pac: Dublin Airport btw.

They were real, they generally have human scarecrows but they have taken industrial action in a row about performance related pay.

And too bloody right, the last human scarecrow they had was out standing in his field!

Ha. Departed Dublin Wednesday evening and wondered what the hell the world's largest bird of prey was doing in Collinstown.

I never noticed it. I'll keep an eye out on the return leg, although it'll be dark.

There are about 3 artificial tethered bird of prey next to the old runway 29 where the construction work is underway. Presumably to deter birds from the dug up soil.

Bit silly though as this area is nowhere near the active runway. With all the recent bird activity around the threshold of 28, they would be more useful there!
