I received a message on my HP laptop. It's a HP Pavilion G series. The message informed that air cooler fan was not working, the computer is nearly 4 years old, after receiving the message the computer shut down.
Any recommendations of action would be appreciared

Get a new fan, might be about eur20. I changed one on a G61 a while back. Complete disassembly required.

How long would it take in order to get a new fan

If possible check is it gunked up with fluff & dust which is stopping it.

If not, a new fan can be got for €7.50 delivered on eBay - Link

I got a can of compressed air and sprayed it in the vents and hey presto! now it works

The whole idea of disassembly that I saw on youtube seemed a bit daunting but now it's working
